More Wild Turkeys

I looked out my window yesterday morning and couldn't believe my eyes!

A gaggle of wild turkeys. Actually, a group of turkeys is called a rafter (I Googled it!).

They were scratching around the side of my house and just kinda hanging out.

I decided to head out the back door and try to get a better shot of them.

And contrary to what Les Nessman of WKRP in Cincinnati thought, turkeys can indeed fly!

These are great! I especially like seeing them in flight. Our dogs have a knack for flushing turkeys out of our fields into the woods. I remember the first time I saw them perch in trees. I was quite surprised!

Isn't this the second time this month you've seen turkeys? Maybe they are following you around! Just kidding. You are lucky to see them - I saw one in my backyard once - he looked kinda lost. I thought he was quite a lovely fowl.
